As a Graphic Design graduate I worked in the Industry for a number of years. Subsequently I managed and taught a range of Art and Design qualifications for 20 years at all levels in the FE sector. During this time I remained a design practitioner and encouraged the use of new technologies and vocational practices within the Educational environment, as an integral part of developing learner creativity and skills. I have written BTEC short courses in Art and Design and Art and Graphic Design units for the revised BTEC Nationals. I am now Subject Advisor for Art and Design at Edexcel offering advice and guidance on unit delivery and content issues, inviting feedback on course related issues affecting teachers. This enables me to provide relevant and useful material for teachers on the Edexcel website.
