Re: Statistics Specimen Paper Grade boundaries

The figures shown below are the suggested marks required for each grade in the 1389 specimen examination papers.

These boundaries are only intended to give centres a rough guide when using the specimen papers. Normally grade boundaries are set after the Principal and senior examiners have marked hundreds of papers; obviously this has not happened for this set of papers and the boundaries are based purely on the judgement of senior examining personnel without reference to a large quantity of candidates’ work.

    Paper Description A* A B C D E F G
    Foundation Paper 1 F       70 50 35 20 10
    Higher Paper 1 H 80 65 45 25 15
There are now four sets of past papers available (2004-2007) from Publications and the grade boundaries for those can be found in the Examiners reports avaikable from http://www.edexcel.org.uk/quals/gcse/maths/gcse/1389/.
