This document has been produced by the Subject Advisor for Art and Design to support teachers who are new to BTEC or who are moving from the National Qualifications Framework specifications to the new Qualifications Credit Framework specifications from September 2010.

It contains information on the qualification 'sizes', their equivalences in relation to GCSEs, the Credit value of the qualifications and the individual units in each of them, listing the Optional units available.  

There is ialso nformation on the new Quality Assurance (Lead Internal Verification) processes and some exemplar materials with the assessment paperwork from a recent NSS sample to give you an idea of the standards expected at each grade.

This one is for 2D visual communications but there will be others to follow ie Graphics plus some examples of Level 3 work in a range of disciplines.
